“Secession–How To!” Interview with Daniel Miller

Share

This interview of Daniel Miller on TexasNationalist.org. Q: If Texas were to secede from the United States, how would family life styles, business operations (large and small), etc., be affected by the re-establishment of an independent republic of Texas? A: “In the interim process there would be little noticeable change other than a screeching halt to our money and resources flowing into the US coffers. It will be after our new Constitution is written and ratified that the real change begins. As we begin to craft a nation that is more reflective of our people, it gives us an opportunity to represent the principles of individual freedom, limited government, sound money, etc. It will give us an opportunity to craft Texas solutions for Texas challenges. Over the long term, Texas would exceed all expectations of even the most optimistic of us. The numbers are on our side. ” Full interview

A Review of “Nullifcation” by Thomas Woods

Share

This article by Tom on PalmettoRepublic.org. … Finally, my last objection to nullification is simply: why bother? In order to regain our independence from Washington and have the people of South Carolina control their government and therefore their lives, we would have to nullify about 99% of federal legislation in one fell swoop. Can you imagine all of the legal battles that it would take to do such a thing? How many times would we have to disprove the General Welfare clause, or the Commerce clause, and which supreme court justice other than Thomas would agree with us? I say the answer is simple: secede. Secession is clearly the most justified, most moral, most responsible action we can take to restore independence and liberty to the people of South Carolina. How can we remain the members of a gang if we are going to pick and choose which rules we’ll follow? How can we hold such high regard for a constitution that gives our overlords the power to tax the ever loving **** out of us? We can’t. We must take responsibility for our own government and for our own lives, declare our independence, secede from the corrupt gangster U.S. government, and build a South Carolina that represents her people and protects their freedom. Full article

Tick – Tick – Tick: The Economy Bomb Part Two

This article by John Gaver on DumpDC.com. … government data indicates that over 300,000 mostly wealthy Americans would choose expatriation each year, from 2000 to 2005 and increase, beyond that time. In fact, that rate has been increasing at a rate significantly higher than the growth of wealth in this nation, for many years. … As someone who lived in London for an extended period, I can assure you that the first thing that you learn when you move offshore, is that there is a huge tax break for living offshore. Therefore, if you live offshore and file your tax return, you will certainly take that exemption. However, since only 257,000 returns claimed any such exemption and the government knows of millions of US expats, that can only mean that millions of US expats didn’t file at all. There is only one reason why millions of US expatriates would risk the ire of the IRS, by not filing. They know that they will never face that ire, because they don’t plan on returning! Full article

Glenn Beck’s DC Rally and Secession

This article by Russell D. Longcore on DumpDC.com. … Glenn Beck’s rally could have been a watershed event for liberty. But it probably did more to damage the cause of liberty in America than any rally heretofore. Beck got the crowd, and all Americans who watched the rally remotely, to acknowledge all the problems. But Beck offers no solutions. So, once the attendees and viewers have heard the Libera Me, Dominemovement of Becks 8-28 Requiem, they are left with hand-wringing desperation but no direction…other than to pray more. … Glenn Beck is an establishment shill. You know this from the mere fact that he has a 60-minute Monday-through-Friday 5:00 show on FoxNews. He is a cheerleader for Abraham Lincoln, the father of American tyranny. He is an unapologetic enthusiast for the US military and all they do, both at home and abroad. And Glenn Beck is a neoconservative, trying to convince viewers and listeners that he is the watchman on the wall. And as long as this is the limit of his message, he and FoxNews will get along fine. Beck, and the entire Conservative and Tea Party movement, still rely on the societal memory of the definition of the word “conservative” for political cover. In daily parlance, it means “disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change:” also, “cautiously moderate.” Americans like to think of themselves as those who live cautiously moderate lives, and people with a wish to restore traditional institutions. … Readers, you know this in your heart. This is not to say that we should stop sounding the alarm. Quite the contrary. But, just like a kid watching the TV doesn’t hear Mom calling him to dinner until she hollers, Americans won’t hear secessionists until the crisis happens. And even then, most won’t default to liberty. They will default to serfdom, since that is how they already live. Most men do not desire liberty: most only wish for a just master (Sallust). Full article

Making Government Irrelevant

Share

This article by Patrick Samuels on SecessionUniversity.com. … We the people, unfortunately, have come to believe that it is right and proper to use the power of government to solve all our problems and meet all our needs. Every time one American citizen says “there ought to be a law” to fix some complaint or offense and another one says “government ought to…” to meet some need or want, our government is happy to intervene and in the process take more or our freedom and more of our money. Did you ever stop and wonder why we have all the special interest groups and lobbyists we love to complain about? It is because each one of them represents some group of citizens, small or large, that want to use the power of government for their own ends. In this game there are winners and losers and the animosity between the two increases as the stakes get higher and government becomes larger and more powerful. For every citizen that wants the government to do something, there is another citizen that must pay for it and give up some bit of freedom to accommodate this new government activity. That other citizen must now “lobby” on his own behalf, playing the game for his own protection. The government becomes no more than a legalized criminal enterprise, granting arbitrary favors and demanding payment for protection. … We get the government we want. If we want a government that meets our every need, we will live as beggars and slaves. If we want a government irrelevant to our daily lives we need to start learning to live without it and elect people who will deconstruct it. Full article
